Puerto Rico really doesn't have long rivers like in the states, but the one it does have are beautiful and refreshing. The longest river is the Grande de Arecibo, followed by La Plata and Loíza. When it comes to lakes, does not contain any natural ones, but has 15 reservoirs and locals call them lakes. The Condado lagoon might be the best known and it is natural. Here, you can canoe and enjoy a beautiful scenery. Other natural natural lagoons besides the one in Condado include San Jose in San Juan, Piñones and Torrecillas in Carolina, Joyuda in Cabo Rojo, and Laguna Tortuguero in Manatí-Vega Baja. Other lakes are found in towns in the central mountain range such as Cayey, where you can swim in a lake called Carite. Tours such as las Tortugas Adventures will take you to places like this.
