What can I say about The Hangman (El Ahorcado in Spanish) taco restaurant? It is classic. It is a must. I've been going there since the 80s and always make it a stop when people visit or I get the craving. Hilarious/bizarre original decor. Palapa roof with all kinds of memorabilia, has to be seen. Great variety of fresh delicious tacos and quesadillas. Start the meal with a bowl of charros beans. Quick service. Usually there is a delightful old organ player cranking out a medley of tunes. Tacos are about $1.50 each. No alcohol is served creating a family friendly atmosphere. You will see plenty of local Mexicans and foreigners eating there and it is always busy. Huge array of salsas, be careful with the salsas in the small bowls, muy picante! Ask your server for an explanation of the salsas before jumping in. Great vegetarian options including: squash blossoms, spinach, huitlacoche, cactus, poplano chilis. Plenty of meat options as well. Located in the Chamizal neighborhood of San Jose Del Cabo.
