This place is a real local gem run by owner/chef Emilio and his wife Lupita. When this place opened in 2009 word spread like wild fire through the local community. L'Oliva (The Olive) first opened in a quaint location then soon after moved to its current location across the street from the Telmex in downtown San Jose Del Cabo. Healthy, tasty, fresh and with great presentation, chef Emilio always is attentive to his guests and prepares each dish fresh to order. The menu changes daily, Monday is pasta day. Meals are set and include: flavored water, salad, soup, appetizer, main course and desert. Emilio is a master of salad dressings. Seating is inside or out on the covered patio. Eating here feels like a special dining experience, fancy, without the fancy price and set in a casual atmosphere. Set menu for lunch is around 120 pesos or 10 USD. Recently the restaurant has added an extensive menu as well for those who wish to order a la carte. Great value. They are evolving so call first for details or drop in and be prepared to be pleasantly surprised.
