Description:
This hilltop park provides fantastic views of San Francisco Bay, downtown San Francisco, and the Mission District in the foreground. At the top of the friendly residential neighborhood of Bernal Heights you'll find locals and their dogs (many, many dogs) roaming around its paths and grassy slopes, chatting over lattes from nearby cafes on Cortland St. A few years ago there was a minor sensation when neighbors walking their dogs in the evening began reporting coyote sightings at this urban oasis; research and a well-made documentary called
San Francisco: Still Wild at Heart proved that this park is wilder than many neighbors thought (or are comfortable with).
