It might not seem like the most advantageous spot for hiking routes, but near and far you'll find San Diego is well equipped for some of the most prestigious hiking routes in the state. All the way up the mountain range in Julian you'll catch breathtaking views, perhaps a few cattle and some rolling hillside; deep within the city limits, including Los Pensaquitos Mountain, Three Sisters or Father Junipero Serra Trail (Mission Trails Regional Park), are winding trails hidden between various highways and condominiums.
