Description:
The Balboa Theater has come to lifeagain after nearly two decades with closed doors; housed in the famed Gaslamp District, the Balboa Theater was purchased by the City of San Diego in 1986 after its previous owners threatened demolition, finally seeing reopening in 2008. The building is registered with the National Register of Historic Places and offers locals and tourists a place to enjoy some of the classic sites and sounds of the city, with Broadway San Diego, California Ballet's "Alice in Wonderland," San Diego's Salute to Teachers, the Mainly Mozart Festival and more.
