Along the Riverwalk or near the Alamo, you'll find romantic restaurants are in no short supply throughout San Antonio. Le Reve is French for "the dream" and this cozy, elegant star in the heart of downtown is a great place to grab a brew, some beef and a break. Francesca's at Sunset boasts a menu created by chef Mark Miller of the famous Coyote Cafe, an excellent wine list (about 150 bottles, including some 30 by the glass), fine service and idyllic Hill Country views from a romantic terrace. La Fogata is one of San Antonio's best-known Mexican restaurants and for good reason. Both the food and the beverages are excellent. Anaqua Grill offers a mix of both Texan and Mediterranean flavors. Among its highly requested items are the pecan-crusted prime rib and the jumbo sea scallops. Las Canarias is located inside one of San Antonio's most historic hotels, La Mansion. Texans are perhaps not known for their touchy-feely side but in San Antonio, at least, there are a number of romantic restaurants to choose from.
