Allow lots of time just to wander around and savor the city of Salzburg, as you peek into churches, sample shops and explore the many fun things to do in the city. Squeezed between the cathedral and Hohensalzburg Fortress is the small but beautiful Capitol Square. It's a charming place to visit and relax. For a more active afternoon, head for Salzburg's largest outdoor pool, situated in the affluent Leopoldskron, where you can enjoy the water and the splendid views of the Leopoldskron Palace. It takes at least half a day to visit the Haus der Natur Museum and see its collection of natural history, zoo and aquarium. Situated about six miles from Salzburg in the village of Grossgmain, the Salzburger Freilicht is an open-air museum consisting of some 50 historical farm buildings dating from the 15th to the 20th centuries - there's even a historical pub for a refreshing beer. From a simple picnic or afternoon retreat in the park to a technical hike, a round of golf or more adventurous sport, there are plenty of fun activities in Salzburg to fill your days.
