NileGuide Expert tip:
Plan to do much more than ski at Sundance Resort.
Description:
Sundance Resort is the brainchild of Robert Redford. Originally a small, family-owned ski area called Timphaven, Redford purchased it in 1969. Since that time, Sundance has purposefully avoided the typical and dramatic development common to almost all other resorts around the nation. And unlike most resorts, Sundance has strong roots in art and environmentalism. Instead of erecting highrise condominium buildings, it has invested its energies into environmental activism, artistic development, and culinary excellence - in a way that harmonizes perfectly with its beautiful, southern Wasatch surroundings.
Skiers will be glad to know that Sundance has 42 runs for alpine skiing, as well as a Nordic center. In all seasons, though, numerous other activities in- and outdoors are possible.
