Amongst the best maritime museums of the world, the Rotterdam Maritiem Museum offers insights into the nautical history of Rotterdam and the Netherlands. The museum exhibits more than half a million maritime structures including ship models, paintings, drawings, maps, globes, navigation instruments, and videos.The 19th century naval ship "De Buffel" forms an important section of the museum along with other Dutch navy ships and small boats. The kids may have an interactive session on shipbuilding and harbour studies with Professor Plons and the trip can be made more exciting with guided tours and educational packages available at the museum.
