Situated in the Kralingen neighborhood on the east end of the city, the Kralingen lake is an artificial lake that surrounds the Kralingen park - the largest green area in Rotterdam. The lake offers plenty of enjoyable activities including sailing and swimming. A small beach area lines the lake on one side, where the kids enjoy making sand castles while taking an occasional dip in the cold waters.When the city experiences severe winters, as was the case last year, the lake tends to get frozen. This invites ice skaters from all over the city, relishing skating on the natural ice rink thus formed. Visit the lake to experience the local atmosphere in Rotterdam.
