Prins Alexander
Prins Alexander is the most populous sub-municipality of Rotterdam. It lies to the east of the city and includes areas like Nesselande, Ommoord, Osterflank and Prinsenland. The area has the largest shopping center in Rotterdam - the Alexandrium Shopping Center. The shopping center with its shopping mall and mega stores is frequented by numerous locals and tourists alike. On weekends, specially when the weather is good, the area is usually bustling with families and kids enjoying an outing in the sun, complete with some great snacks at nearby restaurants. Prins Alexander also houses the Alexander Station, which consists of both a railway and a subway (Rotterdam Metro) system and is the busiest station on the subway route.
