Pinciano/Flaminio/Parioli/Cassia
Just north of the city center is Parioli and Flaminio, two quiet residential neighborhoods that until recently have been off the radar. While Parioli boasts exclusive restaurants and shops known only to locals, Flaminio is the Rome's new contemporary cultural center with the award-winning MAXXI museum (contemporary art), Renzo Piano-designed Parco della Musica, Rome's music auditorium, and two stadiums- Stadio Olimpico (soccer) and Stadio Flaminio (rugby). At the Stadio Olimpico, visitors can glimpse unabashed the Foro Italico, a Mussolini-era olympic stadium with original Fascist statuary.
