No doubt is Rome teeming with Ancient History, but where to start and what is the best? Below is Darius Arya's, archaeologist and National Geographic host, list of his Top Ten favorite things (ancient) in the Eternal City. For Darius, Rome is a vibrant city with something to uncover at every step. Though his list is only 10, there are many more sites to see and for lovers of Ancient History, you may want to dedicate more than a few days to Rome. One of the most enticing reasons to live or visit Rome is that it is city overlapping and intermingling with its history-- from Ancient Rome to Renaissance to present. At any moment, you will walk past amazing monuments, or even just fragments of columns and statues. Most important that you bring your drawing pad, a camera or something to document these wonders.
