Navigating through the labyrinth of Piazza Navona, its restaurants and their garrulous promoters can be a Sisyphean task. What most insiders will say is to head for the streets where there is a treasure trove of restaurants of all varieties from pizzerie like Corallo and Montecarlo, to casual-cool Bar del Fico, Macheroni, l'Orso 80 and Cul de Sac, romantic Santa Lucia and Osteria dell'Antiquario, posh Quinzi e Gabriele and finally Michelin-starred Il Convivio. The path less taken (i.e. non touristy) always provides the best dining.
