Quite( simply, this could be the best value restaurant in Rio de Janeiro. The portions are huge (a dish for one easily serves two or even three), the quality is high and the service always friendly. A relaxed, unpretentious little spot, this is a real Santa Teresa institution and a very good reason to take the tram up the hill to this lovely boho neighbourhood. The set meals are enormous - meat eaters will love the
carne seca (sun dried meat) with beans, yucca, rice and seasoned manioc flour, while vegetarians can feast on the same platter, with slabs of
queijo coalho (a grilled white cheese similar to Halloumi) replacing the meat.
