Reno has been profiled in many magazines and websites as a city of culture. The Biggest Little City has a load of art, music, dance and international festivals all year long. Most of them take place during the popular
Artown festival the whole month of July.
Reno also has several music festivals during the year put on by the
Reno Philharmonic, the
Reno Chamber Orchestra and the
Reno Jazz Festival.
Reno was founded by many groups including the Basque and the Italians. So there has to be an annual
Basque Festival and the Eldorado's
Great Italian Festival as well as the ever growing Cinco de Mayo Festival.
For more art and dance, check out a performance at the
Pioneer Centre for Performing Arts or a play at the
Repertory Theater at the University of Nevada. The
Annual Multicultural Festival in Carson City and the
Night of All Nations at the University are very popular with young people.
