Reno is nowhere near Las Vegas, but it has plenty of casinos that cater to locals and visitors alike. Most of the casinos are in downtown Reno, but a few are located in Sparks and some areas near the California border.
The most popular downtown casinos are the
Silver Legacy, the
Eldorado,
Harrah's and
Circus-Circus. These are all within a short walk of each other. Just outside of downtown is the
Grand Sierra Resort and
John Ascuaga's Nugget in Sparks. Other downtown casinos are local favorites. These are the
Sands Regency, the
Club Cal-Neva and the
Golden Nugget with its famous Awful Awful Burger. Just south of downtown is the popular
Atlantis, which is right next to the convention center and the ever growing Italianesque
Peppermill Casino. A few casinos are on the California border including Bordertown and
Boomtown.
