Reno is a very gay friendly town, with several bars and clubs specifically for gays and lesbians, each with their own different vibe. All the Reno casinos are also gay friendly and the most popular local bars are close to the downtown area.
The
5 Star Saloon, near the West Street Market, prides themselves on bringing in a multitude of different people with their special events and laid back atmosphere. Another gay bar is the
1099 Club, right next to the Chapel Tavern. As one of the oldest gay bars in town, they have a dedicated clientele. The
Neutron/Tronix bar on Kietzke Avenue is more of an action-oriented dance club with a large space and really good drink specials. The bartenders are friendly and their events include DJs, costume contests and drag queen shows. The
Patio is also a popular gay venue, with karaoke nights and sports events.
Some of the clubs and bars in the casinos are also gay friendly.
Rum Bullions at the Silver Legacy,
Roxy's at the Eldorado and the
Sapphire Lounge at Harrah's. If you want to do some partying in the summertime, head to
Nikki Beach at the Grand Sierra Resort.
