Centered around Piazza Duomo, the Centro Storico (Historic Center) is the heart of Ravello where you'll find shops, cafés with outdoor seating and the beautiful Duomo of Ravello dedicated to the town's patron saint San Pantaleone. The historic center of Ravello stretches along a mountain promontory down to the breathtaking views at the Villa Cimbrone. To explore this quiet and primarily residential area of Ravello, follow the Via San Francesco from the Piazza Duomo, which leads past the Convento di San Francesco and the Monastero di Santa Chiara before reaching the gardens of the Villa Cimbrone. To see the other side of Ravello, follow the Via Roma from Piazza Duomo, which is a pretty street lined with shops leading to the Chiesa di Santa Maria a Gradillo. Just to the left of the church in Piazza Duomo, follow the elegant tree-lined staircase called Viale Richard Wagner to reach Via San Giovanni del Toro where you'll find many of Ravello's 5 star hotels and gorgeous views of the Bay of Salerno.
