Ravello's peaceful setting away from the hubbub of traffic and tourist buses makes it an ideal family spot on the Amalfi Coast. Let your kids loose to run around the
Piazza del Vescovado while you relax at one of the pretty outdoor cafés. This is a popular spot for families in the evenings, and your young kids will feel more comfortable seeing the local kids playing soccer and learning to ride their bikes. They might even join in and make some new friends!
Ravello also has two beautiful villas with extensive gardens, which are great for exploring with kids that have the nature bug. Find all the beautifully colored flowers at the
Villa Rufolo or enjoy discovering all the hidden parts of the
Villa Cimbrone gardens.
To burn off some energy, enjoy a walk down to the scenic hamlet of
Torello and stop along the way to see the modern
Auditorium Oscar Niemeyer. While you kids tromp around the pretty terrace overlooking the Amalfi Coast, try to decide whether or not you think it's a good fit with the historic feel of Ravello.
For a day at the beach, join the locals at Ravello's Castiglione Beach. It's located in a secluded cove with beautiful water and black sandy beaches. Just note that it's a lot of steps to get down to the beach!
