Queenstown is all about getting outdoors and testing yourself in the elements. You can go for a tramp (hike) in the bush or go up in the gondola for a view, but if you came to Queenstown for what it's famous for, you won't be disappointed. I'm talking about adrenaline here, people! Jump out of a plane, jet boat up a river or visit a bridge. Remember that in Queenstown, bridges are not just for driving over. You can jump off on a bungy (A J Hackett started it all here) or try out one of the big swings. These are no kiddie rides as you free fall for a long time when you are swinging from a bridge. For the more relaxed traveller, try a cruise on an historical boat where you get to see Queenstown from a different perspective. After that you end up at a working farm, which is one experience you really shouldn't miss if you want to know what Kiwi life is all about. Whatever your day is like, you can round your day off with a bit of wine tasting. No, you don't have to get back in the car, you can do it right in town. Just remember to line your stomach with a Ferg Burger or a pie first!
