Despite the rough sounding name, Playa los Muertos is the most popular beach in Puerto Vallarta. It runs along the Romantic Zone and you can find many wonderful hotels and restaurants right on the beach. There are also several beach clubs where, for a small day-use fee or food/beverage purchase, you can while away the hours under an umbrella on a lounge.It's not really a great swimming beach but you can rent jet skis and other water-friendly equipment from the many vendors on the beach. Remember to bring cash as these activities can get expensive. While the entire span of the beach is gay-friendly, the famous Blue Chairs and increasingly famous Green Chairs beach clubs are located slightly to the south and are considered Vallarta's original "gay beach."
