Puerto Vallarta is home to many wonderful and inspired artists, both native to Mexico and from abroad. In the Romantic Zone and Historic District of downtown Puerto Vallarta, you will find a host of galleries to browse through, displaying paintings, ceramics, sculpture, weaving, handcrafted jewelry and other types of art and Mexican crafts. Galeria Dante features works from more than 50 Mexican artists. While the main galleries are located in these popular areas, there are also galleries throughout the city, tucked away where you'd least expect them.
From the end of October to mid-May, Puerto Vallarta hosts a weekly art walk through the downtown galleries on Wednesday nights. You can pick up a map at any participating gallery and take the self-guided tour. Don't miss the whimsical and unique sculptures at the Sergio Bustamante gallery or the lush, vibrant paintings from Mexican artists on display at Galeria Corona.
