The majority of the Las Conchas beach community sits behind a guard gate. No need to feel intimidated as you are welcome to enter with a smile to the guard and perhaps a brief explanation that you are going to visit CEDO.This beachside residential community sits along the sandy beach and sits behind a series of low bluffs and bigger sand dunes which extend along this beach. The beach is so shallow that in many areas you can walk way out in the water even at higher tides. However, Las Conchas beaches are also well known for stingray! They enjoy the calm water and sandy ocean floor and will lay half hidden from view. So, always do the "Stingray Shuffle" when walking in the water. Stingrays will quickly move away from you if they can sense your approach.
You can reach the Las Conchas community off of the Freemont Boulevard heading towards Caborca. You will see the exit with signs pointing out Las Conchas, Tessoro and CETMAR. Don't miss a visit to the CETMAR aquarium which is attached to a Technological school near the entrance.
And, don't miss a stop to the CEDO complex. You will see it noted with signs, although you can hardly miss the huge whale bone skeleton which is located at CEDO along with an Earth Ship gift shop. CEDO offers much eco-tour adventures, information and lectures about the local ecosystems. CEDO also offers an annual Las Conchas Home Tour which is a treat!
At the farthest end lays the Tessoro Condo project. For an incredible view of the entire area, ask for a tour of the project with a rooftop stop! The salespeople are always thrilled to show off Tessoro!
