One of the main reasons that many people come to Puerto Penasco is for the deep sea fishing available here. The sea of Cortes is home to many types of fish. Common catches are yellow tail, corvina, trigger fish, red snapper, flounder, rock bass and the giant grouper. The kind of fish and the quantity of fish taken is based on the time of year you are fishing, the current weather, the tide position and of course the experience of the captain of the boat. A great fishing boat is the Pancho Villa, a 57 foot Californian with an extended fishing deck with full shade cover. This yacht is roomy and has 2 bathrooms. The fishing trip is enhanced with all the modern equipment, satellite radio, GPS, fish finding equipment and safety gear. And, all bait, fishing gear and licensing included. The owner of the Pancho Villa is Captain Ray Ramirez. He has over 25 years of boating experience in the United States and Mexico and has completed his Maritime Captain education in Hawaii. He is also a full time resident of Rocky Point. You may choose Half Day or Full Day fishing trips. Remember, "the worse day fishing is still better than the best day working".
