Description:

Hotel Penasco del Sol (formerly Plaza las Glorias.) The hotel has recently undergone a complete facelift, including room renovations. The grand lobby is comfortable for reading or people watching. The restaurant, bar and lounge are modern and trendy. The hotel is located at the end of Calle 13 in the lively tourist area. It sits on the water, north of the marina and with great views of the sea. From the pool area, it is just a few steps to the city's main public beach. This is the beginning of the expansive Sandy Beach which continues literally for miles and is a joy to walk at low tide.

The up side: From this property you can enjoy great sunsets over the water. It is centrally located and within walking distance to many restaurants, bars and shopping. It is a short drive to the old port/fish market area. Taxis are plentiful. Onsite is a Restaurant, Lounge a beautiful pool area and Jacuzzi. They regularly offer great packages & discounts.

The down side: This hotel is popular and often hosts bus groups. It is generally busy on weekends. On 'spring break' and on other major U.S. and Mexican holidays the hotel may be loud. The nearby Calle 13 can be rowdy on holidays or late at night.
