Puebla is one of the most important cities in the history of Mexico.
Originally it was planned as the main city for the Spaniards to live in, the indigenous were kept away from the city by a river that ran between Puebla and the nearby towns. This is why there are so many beautiful and elegant buildings, as well as churches.
During the next 200 years after the arrival of the Spaniards, Puebla was the scene of some important events both during the Independence and the Revolution, what made this rich city, even richer.
Walking along the city you'll find many important sights that had help shape what Mexico is today.
