NileGuide Expert tip:
Paragon can be very busy during summer months and at points during the school year when parents come to visit the kids in college. Parking can be problematic so take a taxi or, if you must, you can sometimes find parking along Thayer or a side street before the dinner rush around 7:00pm.
Description:
Cafe Paragon is located in the College Hills area on the east side of Providence in the heart of the Brown University campuses along Thayer Street. Prior to the Providence renaissance, the restaurant was the original Spat's Restaurant and Pub, now located across the street on Angell. Paragon's 32 seat bistro cafe opened in 1994 and expanded in 1997 to include a more upscale dining environment called Viva. Paragon and Viva offer the same menu selection with a slightly different experience.
The award winning menu is very affordable for the quality of food served. Paragon is known for it's selection of burgers, salads and pizzas and they offer a delicious mix of European inspired tapas and entrees. Viva has an extended specialty bar that serves creative martinis and unique blends of your favorite beverages.
Dinner prices range from $13-$19 entrees, $8 tapas, $10 pizzas and $6-$8 burgers and salads.
