A former agricultural property, Wagon Hill Farm on Route 4 in Durham offers surprising diversity for the casual hiker. Unlike other local preserved lands which have been reclaimed by forest, Wagon Hill Farm features an extensive open, gently sloping meadow crisscrossed by well maintained trails. Hikers and walkers will get a sense of welcome expansiveness as they journey through the meadow in this section of the farm. Following the trail, you eventually come upon open shoreline which offers unobstructed views of beautiful Little Bay. Visitors are welcome to take advantage of the picnic tables by the water's edge. Traveling further, the terrain changes yet again into hilly, sloping upland with impressive stands of old growth forest. The property is very suitable for cross country skiing, snow shoeing, and casual hiking and walking. Portions of the farm are also suitable for off-road biking.
