Recently added to the Mornington National Park, Point Nepean has been home to indigenous populations, a quarantine station and a military fort, a medical training facility and an officer training school. At nearby Cheviot Beach Prime Minister Harold Holt disappeared while skin diving in 1967. No body was recovered, fuelling many and varied conspiracy theories.
