Though small, Kathu waterfall is a popular destination on the island. One of the reasons for this is that the area is several degrees cooler than anywhere else and jumping into the cool water is a great respite. Best time to visit is between May and December, when the heavy rains filled out the running streams and make the waterfall more impressive. If you come during the high season (which is also the dry season in Thailand), you might find the waterfall turned into a drizzle. The pools of water are still there, though, and are a great place for a dip. There are several tiers to the waterfall and reaching each one requires a steep climb. Bring shoes with good soles so you don't slip on the wet rock and plenty of cold water to help you along.
