Description:
Ban Boran Antiques is a great place to shop if you're looking to take home something more than just cheap souvenirs. The shop (which is only open by appointment) is located inside a restored Sino-Portuguese mansion in old Phuket town. The shop itself is almost like an art gallery and well worth a visit even if you end up buying nothing. Items in display include everything from vintage clothing to handcrafted silver, glassware and heritage art. Ban Boran sells antiques from all over Thailand, as well as Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. If you're buying true antiques, ask whether you need paperwork in order to take it out of Thailand legally.
