Despite being located inside one of Phuket's top hotels (the Metropole), Fortuna Pavilion is surprisingly affordable. Before you even touch the a-la-carte menu, head to their dim sum basket luncheon area. Here, you can choose from 20 different dim sum baskets, each selling for less than U$1. If you want something more filling, try a dish from their menu, where you'll find everything from scallops and prawns to duck, lobster and suckling pig. For a taste of the exotic (and if you don't mind spending quite a bit more), try shark fin or bird's nest soup. The restaurant has a good selection of international wines and a few great dessert options. While the décor is all-out Chinese, don't expect cheap plastic lamps and a buffet-like style here. The ambiance is richly decorated, with expensive motifs, plush carpets and soft traditional music. Great place for a long lunch or dinner.Map:
