Opened in 1969 by legendary film star, environmentalist, and philanthropist, Robert Redford, this ski area has uniquely rejected the common path of resort growth and hotel developments. Instead, its trajectory has been one of artistic community and environmental conservation.Sundance indeed offers lodging and dining -but these amenities draw from and reflect their natural surroundings, rather than ignore or threaten them.
