A lot of people think the only fun thing to do in Palm Springs is play golf. Certainly it's one of them but there are a lot of other enjoyable activities here in the desert. The top choice (literally) is the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, which whisks you from the dry desert floor 5,873 feet up into the cool, moist climate of the San Jacinto Mountains aboard the world's largest rotating tramcars. Boomers arcade is perfect for birthday celebrations and company outings or just hanging out. Indian Canyons is a beautiful retreat from the sometimes-glitzy atmosphere of Palm Springs. When the streams are running, children enjoy splashing in the water and it's a popular area for picnics. Another way to get wet is at Knotts Soak City, a 21-acre oasis sporting a 1950s Southern California beach theme and 22 water rides and attractions, including a wave pool and lazy river. So next time leave your golf clubs at home and hit the many other fun activities in Palm Springs.
