Wolvercote
Wolvercote is a small English village located on the west side of North Oxford. Stone cottages, one-way roads and an old cemetery play to the suburb's quaint appeal. Two well known pubs, The Swan and Plough Inn, are located in Wolvercote, overlooking the Thames River and Oxford Canal, respectively.
The Trout is another pub that is well worth the walk across the meadow, right on the river, it serves up delicious food in an elegant atmosphere. On a sunny day, it is lovely to sit outside and look out across the river. Lower Wolvercote also borders the beautiful
Port Meadow. You can also bike to Wolvercote along the canal towpath. It's a great cycle and quicker than walking.
