North Oxford

J.R.R. Tolkien and Iris Murdoch once lived in North Oxford, which is known for its large Victorian homes and tree-lined streets. The area does not have a large number of tourist attractions; rather, North Oxford neighborhoods are active with the daily outings of locals walking their dogs and student teams practicing football in University Parks. Woodstock and Banbury Roads traverse through North Oxford into the center of town, making the area accessible to the City Centre but removed from its hustle and bustle.
