NileGuide Expert tip:
It may seem obvious, but the aerial parks aren't suitable for people with a fear of heights. Also, some upper-body strength is useful, as you'll be using your arms to hang onto guy wires to keep your balance. If you have long hair, tie it back. And open-toed shoes are not permitted.
Description:
There's something for just about everyone at Lafleche Adventure Park. For explorers, there's a huge cave system, filled with bats in spring. For thrill seekers, there are two aerial parks, where visitors tackle a course of suspended tightropes, nets and swinging bridges, and whiz down a series of Ziplines. There's a children's aerial park for gentler adventures. And nature enthusiasts can hike or snowshoe on a network of trails. All of this takes place on a spectacular wooded site in the Gatineau Hills, about a 35-minute drive from downtown Ottawa.
To enter the caves, children must be at least five years old and accompanied by an adult.
To use the kids' park, children must be at least 122cm (4 feet) tall, and their hips must be no more than 107cm (42 inches) around, due to the size of the harness.
