Downtown
The main drag is Main Street between Old Boston Post Road and Boston Post Road (I know, two Boston Post Roads seems a little redundant, confusing and unoriginal.) But this is the hub of in-town activity for Old Saybrook. The town's cultural parades and festivals, Farmer's Markets and other community events take place here throughout the seasons. You'll find restaurants, boutique shops, art galleries and bars all along the quaint street where parking (never will you need to know how to parallel) is free. At the top of the street is Saybrook Country Barn and Starbucks, at the bottom of the street you'll find the Katherine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center. Flagging each side in between are a variety of banks, businesses, nail spas and retailers including North Cove Outfitters, Swag and Maxim Antiques. The side streets off of Main are primarily residential neighborhoods, plus the town dock, Founder's Memorial Park and the Middle School.
