Downtown

Downtown Honolulu functions as the financial and business center of the island by day, and then becomes the hub for nightlife after the sun goes down. Streets around Nu'uanu and Hotel are the most populated with people. While cities on the mainland wear business suits, the islands have a more relaxed attire. Aloha shirts and comfortable dresses are the norm both by day and night. Men should wear covered shoes if they intend to go out to the bars in the evening.
