If you're staying out in Nuevo Vallarta, there's no need to go all the way to Puerto Vallarta to do some shopping. Paradise Plaza is a two-story mall offering many shops, restaurants and services to make your stay more pleasant. Although the prices are higher than what you would pay in Puerto Vallarta, when you factor in the cost of traveling, you probably break even. You will have more of a selection in PV, however.There's a small deli/grocery store in the Plaza where you can pick up snacks to fill your fridge at your hotel or condo. Alcohol is readily available for purchase. There's several dental and medical offices located there too, as well as banks and ATMs. You can pick up medications at the pharmacy or do some laundry at the laundromat.
There's many shops if you want to pick up souvenirs (although again, the prices will be high), a swimsuit or beachwear. There's also a bookstore and several arts & crafts stores. Smokers can check out the cigar store where you can grab some Cubans (cigars, not actual Cubans) for enjoyment later.
If you miss the tastes of home, you can grab coffee at Starbucks, a burger at McDonald's, some Domino's Pizza or a scoop of Baskin-Robbins ice cream. There are other full service restaurants in the Plaza as well.
