The Lakeview neighborhood in the northern part of the city has almost a beachy feel, and when you drive along Lakeshore Drive, you'll see why. Rows of palm trees line the shore of Lake Pontchartrain, and seagulls fly overhead. The paved path along the lake is perfect for walking or biking, and the Lakeview parks make great places for sunset picnics. Although large parts of Lakeview were flooded during Hurricane Katrina, many residents are back and the neighborhood has made great strides in the revitalization efforts.
