No matter what time of year you visit Munich there is certain to be an event going on whether it's musical, cultural, or both. Munich is known for its most famous event, the famous Oktoberfest, which is held every year for two weeks ending on the first weekend in October. Although it is Munich's biggest, there are many other similar festivals in the city as well as in nearly every suburb. People's festivals (volksfests) are all simply smaller versions of the Oktoberfest that happen between April and October. Certainly here you can find a festival every few weeks throughout the year if you want to make your visit to Munich unique, experience the local culture and traditions, or just want something different this time around.
