Montreal bar bonanza
Description:
Montreal is a tourist's dream. With more bars and restaurants per capita than almost anywhere else in North America, and 4 major universities within 15 minutes of the downtown area, Montreal has a vibrant nightlife.

Day 1 - Montreal
Two days of Montréal madness. Day one starts out with a BIG breakfast- you will need it. Head down to the Old Port of Montréal, and find the clock tower (it is the big tower with a clock on it). The jet boat leaves from there. Make sure you wear something you don’t mind getting wet! After changing your clothes you can rent a bike or rollerblades from Velo Aventure or Ca Roule Montréal and work off your breakfast- and up an appetite for Chinese food. At Maison VIP in Chinatown for lunch / supper you can order multiple plates and share them between your crew. After the pit stop to refuel, start out toward what you are really in Montréal for, the bars. Brutopia is a mellow place to have your first pint of the day. A student hangout that serves home-brewed beer, it is only a short stumble to your next stop- the Peel Pub; a Montréal institution. You can also order decent pub grub at this place. The final stop for the evening is also in the downtown area. The Tucan, upstairs from McKibbin’s Irish Pub, offers up decent prices, and you are almost guaranteed to have a young crowd and a packed dance floor on the weekend.

Day 2 - Montreal
Yeah, day number two is a little slower starting than the day before was, no kidding. So, assuming that it is lunchtime by the time you wake up, and that you are craving something a little bit greasy, Schwartz’s, on St. Laurent blvd. is the lunch for breakfast stop. If Montréal smoked meat isn’t your thing in the (morning?) head back to where you ate yesterday- Eggspectation never fails to deliver on the standard egg and bacon type meal. LaRonde- the largest amusement park in the province is where the fun for the day is planned. Head back to the hotel for a nap if you need to recoup before dinner. Montréal is a city that eats late- especially in the summertime. Head toward Prince-Arthur Street for the beginning of the evening of debauchery. This area is packed with a buzzing tourist and student crowd. Cafe Campus has great deals on pitchers of beer, go early to avoid the line ups or you will get stuck outside with half of the college kids in town.
