In our opinion the best thing to do with your children when in a new city is to see unique things about that city in as fun and kid-friendly a way as possible. And there are many way to do that in Montreal with a made-for-children science center right at the Old Port, and which created the time-tested tradition of "sugaring off" (riding through maple trees on hay baled horse drawn sheds, to the shack where they boil down the maple sap into a syrup, and--especially popular with the kids-- then splay out a steaming hot pre-syrup called "Tire" onto snow-filled troughs where it cools down to a taffy that the kids go at, with wooden spoons). And right on the island itself, there are a myriad of choices for activities for you and your family to enjoy in Montreal, from the more educational fun, to the wild almost-jumping-out-of-an-airplane kind of fun. Have a great time!
