Whatever brings you to Bozeman, you will be glad you made it. In addition to fabulous skiing and blue-ribbon fly-fishing, Bozeman is a great small western town with lots of things to do.
Since skiing is king in Bozeman and Big Sky Resort is some of the best skiing in the world, it earns our number one slot. With a 150 runs and 27 lifts, the crowds are almost non-existent and the luxury lodgings feature ski-in and ski-out accommodations. If don't have piles of money for a fancy destination weekend, great skiing is still an option. You can ski with enthusiastic locals at Bridger Bowl Ski Area just minutes from town, and staying in Bozeman will be (almost) as fabulous.
Even if you are not the museum-going type, everyone should stop by the Museum of the Rockies. Smithsonian-affiliated and Montana State University sponsored, this museum is less fancy than big city museums, but its permanent dinosaur exhibit may be the best anywhere. In fact, the university's famous paleontologist, Jack Horner, inspired the novel turned movie "Jurassic Park".
After a long day outside, Montanans enjoy nothing more than soaking in natural hot springs. Bozeman has several around the area, and Norris Hot Springs is our number 6 choice for things to do. Norris Hot Springs is an outdoor, hot pool that sponsors live local bands, and local micro-brews. A notable exclusion from our list is Bozeman Hot Springs. While in town and a very nice facility, Bozeman Hot Springs features indoor pools and caters to their gym-membership clientele.
Looking for an unusual stop? The American Computer Museum is an interesting way to spend a couple of hours. Your inner nerd will be thrilled to see an original Ataris and the room-sized ancestor of your personal computer.
