You came to Moab to experience the most active things to do there, didn't you? Of course you did. And we've got a great roundup for you. From hikes to bike trails to a few secrets, here are our favorite most active things to do around town!
They seem obvious, but nearby Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park are full of great active, um, activities for you to check out. Sure, you can just drive around the parks and ogle the view from your car, but you want to get out and stretch your legs a bit, don't you? Delicate Arch Trail in Arches is a must-do, as is Mesa Arch in Canyonlands. We included Sand Dune Arch because it tends to be popular with (and easy for) kids. The Devils Garden Primitive Loop is seriously active depending on how many side trip hikes you incorporate.
Behind the Rocks is a Moab secret that is fast becoming more well known to visitors. South of town, it resembles Canyonlands in its stunning sandstone fins and buttes and pinnacles. There are at least 40 known arches out here, not all of them named, and likely more waiting to be discovered in this remote area. Mountain biking trails out here are quite technical and will definitely give you a workout. But if you hike the trails instead, you're no slouch either. Bring plenty of water, a camera, and your most adventurous spirit when you explore Behind the Rocks.
