Interested in old fire houses and equipment? Consider a visit to the Milwaukee Fire Department Museum and Historical Society. The museum/historical society is located within an old Firehouse, Engine 23's headquarters. It is open on the first Sunday of every month from 1:00-4:00PM. Admission is free, donations are welcome.
Built in 1927, the fire house was designed by a Milwaukee architect named Charles Mahlig. While there, you'll see a 1943 Pirsch engine, and hand-pulled hose cart, and an 1850's hand pumper.
