Description:
Milwaukee's 120 year old landmark built in 1885 was originally touted as the world's tallest building until 1899. It was still considered the tallest building in Wisconsin until 1973.
Built by a German architect, it is a good example of the German Renaissance style evident in other buildings erected during that time. This was due to the number of early German settlers in the area at the time.
One of many historic places in Milwaukee, Milwaukee's City Hall is an interesting stop on a walking tour of downtown Milwaukee. The building has 15 floors; however, many offices are located within it making it a place for just a quick once over.
